Newborn Intensive Care

Intensive Care is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients in critical illness conditions requiring follow-up with advanced organ support systems and interventional interventions.

Intensive care units are special departments in hospitals where intensive care medicine is applied.

Intensive care units are named depending on the characteristics of the patients they deal with. Surgical intensive care unit clinically provides focused care and treatment to adult and paediatric surgical patients who need intensive support in the perioperative period (surgery period), which includes the period before, during and immediately after surgery. The internal intensive care unit carries out care and treatment focused on cardiac, respiratory, neurological, haematological, hepato-pancreatic and all medical problems, especially emergency in adult patients.

The internal and surgical intensive care units of the Private Aile Hastanesi are closed units that provide health services 24/7 under the management of anaesthesia and intensive care specialists. In these units, multidisciplinary working principles are applied, where prominent specialists from each speciality provide 24-hour consultation services. Our intensive care team, which carries out all aspects of the care of our patients, is in communication with the consultations and support of the responsible physicians in all branches, both surgical and internal, and with the specialists of their fields, and meticulously applies the treatment plans approved by the relevant physicians.

Surgical Intensive Care Unit

The surgical intensive care unit in the Private Aile Hastanesi, where challenging surgical interventions such as adult cardiac surgery, neurosurgery or spinal surgery are frequently performed, performs an important function. Because, as we have listed, difficult surgical interventions can only be performed and sustained with the presence of well-equipped and accumulated intensive care units.

Restoration of physiological values after prolonged surgeries, close monitoring of metabolic processes, haemodynamic and respiratory support can be achieved. The postoperative period, which is a critical period, can be overcome by organ support systems in some patients who have undergone difficult surgery. The presence of support systems such as intra-aortic balloon pump and extracorporeal oxygenation makes it possible to perform these surgical interventions. Although the number of intensive care units where these systems can be used is gradually increasing, it is still not at the desired levels in our country. Surgical intensive care units provide services in close observation, care and treatment of critically ill cardiac patients, neurological patients, lung patients and patients with multiple organ failure as well as postoperative patients.

The General Intensive Care Unit serves adult patients and constitutes one of the important units of our hospital. Our internal intensive care unit is a unit where organ support systems can be used just like the surgical intensive care unit; respiratory, cardiac and renal support can be provided.

In our Intensive Care Unit, vital support is provided to critical adult and paediatric patients with adequate equipment, hardware and multidisciplinary approach for all ages and weights. Patients requiring advanced life support are followed and treated in intensive care (ECMO, ventricular assist device, etc.). At each bedside, there is an artificial respiration device suitable for the age and weight of the patient and monitors suitable for all kinds of monitoring. Vital functions of our patients are monitored 24 hours a day with advanced monitoring and necessary medical interventions are performed.

All laboratory tests and imaging examinations can be performed at any time of the day.
